A total of 27 prizes were the focus of attention for the crowd that assembled in November in Warsaw for the CIJ Awards Poland 2017. This was a strong year by any standard, as the favorable economic winds that have pushed growth across CEE are blowing hardest in greatest evidence in Poland. All of the sectors had multiples nominations to contend with, but a pair of developers managed to deal with them better than the rest. The Best Office Developer went to HB Reavis, an accomplishment mirrored by Dom Development whose leaders were on hand to accept the Best Residential Developer. Unibail–Rodamco’s Wroclavia project was named Best Retail Development, while Amazon’s fulfillment center, developed by Panattoni Europe, claimed top prize in the Best Warehouse Development category. However, when it came to the Leading Green Building Development, Murapol came out on top and it was Griffin Premium RE’s IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange that earned the statue for Investment Transaction of the Year. SEGRO Poland won in the Best Warehouse Lease category.
The envelopes for the Real Estate Teams & Leaders grouping revealed new names: AXI Immo Group (for Best Warehouse Power Broker Team and Best Local Power Broker Team); Savills (for Best Office Power Broker Team); TPA Poland (topping the Best Tax & Financial Team category); while Tomasz Buras received the top honor of Best Leadership of the Year. But there were still other important prizes to come, including the Best Bank category (won by Bank Zachodni WBK), Best Law Firm (Dentons) and the Best Architect Company (Concept Space). Meanwhile Gleeds Polska took first place as Best Project Management Company category and Echo Polska Properties came out on top for the Asset Management Company honors. The Best Property Management Company for 2017, on the other hand, had the name Apsys Polska written on it and SPIE Poland that carried off the statue for Best Facility Management Company.
